It's winter in Denver and with snow on the ground and a wind chill that hurts your ears, an adventure indoors is required.
We decided on a day trip to the Gaylord Rockies Resort in Denver. With no convention badge or overnight stay planned, we opted for a self-guided tour, dinner and then relaxing conversation watching the sunset by the fire.
I was super impressed with the design and alpine themed decor throughout the resort. It was the perfect temperature with no wind chill to meander through the expansive resort. The Grand Lodge area that has huge windows which overlook the mountains, along with cozy seating and cascading waterfalls was for sure my favorite!
We spent about 5 hours and felt thoroughly relaxed for every minute of it. No, I didn't want to leave. Yes, I plan to head back for a weekend stay in the summer when I can enjoy the lazy river!
Today's adventure was perfect perfect perfect!
