Today's adventure is filled with peaceful zen spaces inside the historic botanical paradise of Sunken Gardens, along with a relaxing stroll along the paved walkway at Crescent Lake.
Sunken Gardens is a quick trip inside a well-manicured landscape filled with flowers, tropical trees, koi fish and even a flock of flamingos.
Although I did get turned around while inside the gardens, it only takes about an hour to see it all. I would highly recommend taking your time and taking it all in.
I am happy that they have ample parking regardless of being right in the heart of downtown St. Pete's city limits. Finding street parking is a pet peeve of mine.
After visiting the Gardens, grab your picnic basket and blanket and head around the corner to Crescent Lake. There's a 2 1/2 mile paved loop that circles the lake... great for strollers (dogs or babies). They also have a banyan tree so don't miss that!
Don't forget that it is a body of water so keep dogs and small kids away from the edge... you never know what other animals might be searching for lunch.

Side note: Sunken Gardens doesn't allow commercial photos to be published so although these photographs do belong to me, they were not taken inside the Garden.
and YES, this adventure will certainly be added to my Pen Pal Adventure Book!
