Let's be honest, all of Rhode Island is fabulously picturesque and this small state should be on your bucket list and in your Pen Pal Adventure Book for sure. But I am going to tell you something that can NOT be missed when you make your way into Newport.
The Cliff Walk!
When I lived in Milford, Connecticut and my daughter came to visit - we planned a day trip to experience the Cliff Walk. Exhilarated is an understatement. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, around every bend of the well laid out path, was something new to see and photograph.
Walking out onto the HUGE rocks and seeing the intense energy of the waves crashing along the shore is just spectacular. Everyone takes fun pics in this tunnel too!
We also got to see Taylor Swift's house... us 'swifties' were beyond thrilled!
We couldn't stay long because the pups were missing us back in Milford, but if I get the opportunity to go back and do it again, here's some takeaways to remember:
- Go early
- Bring sunscreen and water
- Download the map and plan your route ahead of time
- Book a stay in Newport because there's too many good restaurants and too much shopping to pack into just one day!
